WHATS NEW FOR 2025
Throughout the 2024 season we have been actively listening to and engaging with our Riders for each class. Since the end of the season the team have been working tirelessly to implement as many of the suggestions put forward as possible, aiming to improve the championship in the areas highlighted by rider feedback.
While we may never achieve perfection for everyone, please rest assured that we will continue to strive for improvement and keep the championship moving forward.
2025 CALENDAR
Below is the confirmed 2025 OMG Racing British Mini Bikes Calendar.
In 2025 there will be 5 rounds which will be held between March & September 2025. This will keep the championship cost down including travel for competitors.
We are still working on a prestigous bonus round but at the moment that still cannot be confirmed.
The Circuits chosen are all ACU Inspected and approved for their safety.
THE OFFICIAL ACU BRITISH MINI BIKE CHAMPIONSHIP
2025 will see all our classes become the official British Mini Bike Championships. Pitbikes and Superminis will now also be the official British Championships.
All of the Circuits and Officials will be ACU Inspected and Licenced to make sure that the highest standards in medical cover and levels of motorsport professionalism are maintained.
All our staff and the circuits Marshalls are DBS checked to ensure your childs safety at our events.
SUPPORTING OUR RIDERS WITH DISCOUNTED ENTRY FEES
DISCOUNTED ENTRY
By changing the way we run the championship and keeping the events down to 5 rounds, we can reduce the entry fee for everyone down to £140 for the whole weekend per class.
But it doesn’t stop there, after we have met the required 120 online entry level for the event (by the online closing date) all the additional online entry fees will be rebated back to all the riders entered before the cut off.
130 plus entries = -£10 Rebate
140 plus entries = -£20 Rebate
160 plus entries = -£35 Rebate
180 plus entries = -£45 Rebate
200 plus entries = -£55 Rebate
Rebates will be made to the riders Alpha account within 7 days of the event and can be used towards payment of upcoming rounds. Any account balances left at the end of the season can be refunded back into the riders account / card.
** Example 180 online entries for a round = Weekend online Entry Cost just £95 after the rebate.
By doing this we are effectively supporting EVERY RIDER in the paddock not just a selected few.
CHOICE ON EVENT FORMAT & CLASS SPECIFIC OPTIONS
Each registered rider will receive an online poll form for their class which amongst other things will allow them to vote on several choices regarding their class including the running format.
There are two options, both Formats are designed to maximise rider track time, this also allows some breathing time to help recover from Redflag issues etc with minimum effect on race time.

The benefits of running 3 shorter races over 2 longer races.
Less waiting/downtime between riders sessions.
Shorter Races mean less lapping of slower riders by the leaders which improves safety with fewer incidents.
All races can be filmed / broadcast.
PARENT RECOVERY MARSHALLS
Throughout 2024 we struggled with obtaining recovery marshals, although we always met the ACU minimum you can never have too many, especially when children are involved.
We have been in consultations with the ACU and have agreed the following policy can be put in place.
Parents can act as recovery marshalls as long as the following conditions are met.
They attend a free special recovery marshalls briefing / instruction prior to the start of the season, where they will receive training on how the role must be carried out along with a basic medical understanding (do’s and what not to do’s).
They receive a discount for carrying out their duties.
They are based at a marshal point and stay under the control of the marshal and race direction at all times.
They have signed the relevant ACU Marshals sign on form when attending the marshals briefing before taking to the circuit.
POLICING CONTROLLED CLASSES
INCREASED DYNO CHECKING
The trackside dyno testing will this year see the return of Mini Bike Dyno, which is now under new ownership.
The Dyno will be available for the post race compliance testing , ensuring that all classes are policed to avoid riders gaining an unfair advantage. this is inline with the spirit of the championship where we value openness and fairness.
The Dyno is also being fitted with a special bracket to accommodate Mini Motos so this year we can police this class effectively also.
The limits set for each class will make for a level playing field for all riders as the limit is easily reached cost effectively and in-fact we would advise EVERY rider, especially if they are fitting adjustable ignitions etc to have their output levels checked to make sure that they do not exceed these levels as the limit is THE LIMIT with a tolerance already built in. Exceed it and you WILL be excluded.
As all Dyno’s will show a different reading we would strongly advise that you have your bike tested on the Mini Bike Dyno equipment to make sure that you are running within the limits set for your class.
The Dyno results of anyone who fails testing at an event, and therefore are excluded, will be published on our website and social media pages.
ALLOWED MODIFICATIONS
From March 2025 onwards the controlled classes (not including the Sealed FIM / Ohavle Classes) engines will be limited to the following restrictions only unless stated separately in the class regulations.
They must be one of the homologated engine types set for the class
The Maximum BHP and Torque outputs set for the engine type must not be exceeded
The Exhaust noise emissions level must not exceed the static noise test level set.
The ignition mapping can not altered by switch or change of wiring except and can only be modified from within the stator housing.
This means you will be able to fit thinner gaskets etc to help improve your engine output as long as the engine does not exceed the stated limit for the engine type. This will enable everyone to compete on as close a playing field as possible at the minimum outlay.
HOWEVER, BE WARNED
If you exceed the output levels set for your engine by even a small amount you will be EXCLUDED and your points removed from the championship table up to the date of testing
THE FIM MINI GP SERIES
We will once again be running both the FIM MiniGP UK 160 and 190 Series as part of the FIM MiniGP World Series.
The top riders from each class will not only attend the British MotoGP round at Silverstone as VIP Guests of Dorna but also take part in the World Finals at MotoGP Valencia at the end of the season, where bikes, leathers, helmets, toolboxes, gazebos etc are all provided free of charge. This is an excellent way for upcoming juniors to compete on the world stage.
As with all Ohvale classes this is a one make championship with sealed engines to make sure that the juniors talent shines through.
MINI MOTO’S RETURN TO BMB
As with everything the championship evolves over time and last year we reintroduced a Mini Moto Class.
This will return for 2025 however there will be only one class with the Maximum BHP level increased to allow for those wishing to run a 12mm restrictor. The limit will be announced shorty once our preliminary testing is complete
To allow the riders true talent to shine through no one should be able to buy a performance advantage, Therefore although the class is open to all chassis and engine manufacturers, the maximum output level of must not be exceeded. This season this will be vigorosly policed by our trackside dyno team.
SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY
TOP FLIGHT MEDICAL COVER
There is no denying that motorsport can be dangerous and therefore we feel that our riders should benefit from the best possible medical care when needed.
Therefore for 2025 onwards, we will be deploying Doctor, Paramedics, Ambulance Technicians & 2 Ambulances at all rounds.
